Spiritual Life
Luther Center for Learning is firmly rooted in the Bible and its revelation of God's promise, presence, and purpose for life. The Lutheran Church believes that the Bible's center is the good news that in Jesus, God forgives, renews, and restores all fallen humanity to God and to one another. We are invited into a relationship of love, peace, and justice with others, ourselves, and with the world God continues to create. This gift of grace claims us for a life of mercy, compassion, and faithfulness to God. God gives a unique combination of gifts to each person. To educate a child is to lead out those gifts and to nurture and encourage the use of those gifts for servant leadership in God's world.
Spiritual and personal development are integral to all aspects of the Luther Center experience. Learning to live as Christ lived incorporates knowledge and understanding of Biblical truth along with participation in a Luther Center community that makes that truth a reality. The journey of faith is encouraged and supported. Students at Luther Center are led to develop moral and social responsibility in service to others.
Each class will begin the day with prayer, flag salute, songs, announcements, etc. Students attend chapel once a week. Luther Center for Learning is affiliated with Spirit of Life Lutheran Church (Port Orchard, WA) and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). However, we welcome children of all Christian and non-Christian faiths. During chapel students will be taught about God's love and grace through songs, prayer, and Bible stories. Parents are encouraged to join students at chapel. |
